Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012 after she dropped her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The song Sweat it featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to perform on Rihanna references. The 8th of December was the day she announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017 and also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. in 2018, the singer-songwriter appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. Then on the 9th November the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Two additional singles were also released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. She was featured with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16th, and she released the song as a single by herself for her first album. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order in conjunction with the song. Within a period of a week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. In December 2018, she performed as performing as a support act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
